Inspired by the mighty Porsche 917K from the early 1970's and the iconic Martini Racing livery, this is a tribute to Vic Elford, whose versatile and masterly skills behind the wheel of almost any form of racing car are often overlooked.
Fondly known as "Quick Vic", Elford competed in Formula 1, Rally, Rallycross but most successfully in Sports Car racing. He is best known for winning the Monte Carlo Rally, Targa Floria, Daytona 24 Hours, and finishing 4th in his first F1 race in France...all in 1968. In 1971 he added the Sebring 12 Hours to his winning titles. This drawing depicts the No.4 car as driven in the 1971 Daytona 24 Hours.
